The Turtle Hospital was opened in 1986 with four
main goals: 1) repair injured sea turtles and return
them to the wild, 2) educate the public through
outreach programs to local schools, 3) conduct and
assist with research which aids the sea turtles (in
conjunction with state universities), and 4) work
toward environmental legislation which makes the
beaches and water safe and clean for sea turtles.

Price of admission includes an approximate 45
minute educational guide of the hospital with a
presentation and a 45 minute guide through the sea
turtle rehabilitation area.

Guests staying at Hidden Harbor Motel receive a
complimentary guided educational experience.

CHILDREN (4-12 years old): $7.50

This is a 17 acre marine mammal facility.  They offer
guided tours that feature many species of marine life,
tropical birds and reptiles.

Mannillo and Jack C. Watson Nature Trails

MM 30, Located in the National Key Deer Refuge, Big
Pine Key.  Hikers have the opportunity to see many
different species of birds, reptiles and mammals by
taking the .7 mile hike on the Jack C. Watson Trail or
the .1 mile handicapped-accessible hike on the
Manillo Trail Spur.
